Harbinger Cruises offers afternoon,day, weekend or weeklong crewed sailboat charters on the Chesapeake Bay.

Our rates are very competitive but our service is excellent and our boat is beautiful. We specialize in one, two or three couples.

We will do our best to assure you of a wonderful, memorable experience.

If you only have experience with small sailboats or racing sailboats, you know they can be very 'tippy.' Kanau is not like that. She heels (leans) maybe 5 to 10 degrees even in 25 knot winds and, while wakes from large power boats can rock her, the Captain is very experienced in taking those waves with minimal rocking.

The large, comfortable center cockpit allows our guests a 360 degree view of the horizon, while the bimini keeps you comfortably in the shade.

We have a set of Bose speakers in the cockpit if you like listening to music while you sail. And we have a cockpit shower to wash the salt off if you decide to go swimming.

We have a large, uncluttered foredeck with cushions if you want to catch some rays.

Below decks you'll find a well appointed main salon with stereo, computer, television, DVD player, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, bar, small library, plenty of food, snacks, and sippers. You'll find two heads (bathrooms) with hot water showers and two staterooms.

We tailor each cruise to our guests. If you want to sail, we sail. If you prefer to sit at anchor in some secluded cove, we love to do that, too.

Or we can take you to shore in our dinghy and you can explore some of the little towns that surround the bay.

Or we can pull up to a restaurant - there are several with docks on the bay. (It's really kind of cool to step off of a boat at a dock and enter a restaurant from the water side and pretend to ignore the envious glances from the other patrons.)

It's a good idea to book us well in advance. The dates can fill up quickly when the season arrives.

Late spring and early summer and late summer and fall are the best times. Mid-summer can get pretty hot and often there is little wind on the Chesapeake. But to offset this, we offer 10 percent off from mid-July to mid-August.

We also offer 10 percent off if you book us more than 6 weeks in advance. We require 50% down to hold the date with the remainder due upon boarding.

Harbinger Cruises operates out of historic Galesville, Maryland near the picturesque Chesapeake Bay.
